IR Temperature Measurement for Process Industries, Advanced Materials & Research From Far Associates & Their Spectropyrometers

Macedonia OH, USA – The revolutionary expert system multi-wavelength pyrometer, the SpectroPyrometer, helps solve some unique applications problems as revealed in the literature online at the Far Associates website.
They have successfully helped clients in many applications.
Application Successes in:
* Metals processing and testing
* Powder metallurgy: sintering (emissivity changes with processing, temperature)
* Ceramic manufacture and in-use testing
* Glass manufacture and processing
* Fiber drawing
* Chemical Vapor Deposition/Infiltration: (CVD/CVI)
* Carbon and carbon/carbon manufacture and processing
* Absorbing environments (offgas or process atmosphere interference)
* Combustion
* Ultra-high temperatures (greater than 3000°C/5500°F)
* Refractory metals (emissivity changes with wavelength)
* Exotic metal alloys (oxides varying with thermal history)
* Agriculture/agronomy
THEY OFFER:

About Far Associates
FAR Associates was started as a consulting company with a specialty in non-contact temperature measurement. With one spectrophotometer and early PCs for data analysis they began applying multi-wavelength pyrometry in 1987 — “have instrument, will travel.” Almost all their early work was devoted to on-site measurements of clients’ challenging processes. In the course of this work they learned firsthand the difficulties faced by those trying to make real-world temperature determinations to manufacture or improve a product. As spectrophotometer and computer technology advanced, they melded the two into an expert system that embodies what they had learned. Their first SpectroPyrometer, the result of this development, was placed on sale in 1997. They were incorporated in the State of Ohio in 1993.
